A retreat is your ultimate opportunity to unwind and rejuvenate yourself – mind, body, and soul. At our Yoga and Wellness retreat, we help you do that and much more.

Our week-long retreat in the lap of the beautiful city of Rishikesh, by the banks of holy River Ganges, comprises of a combination of yoga and meditation rituals that puts you in the right frame of mind almost instantaneously. During the retreat, our students participate in Hatha and Ashtanga styles of yoga. While Hatha yoga is more relaxed form, Ashtanga can be a bit intense as it requires a lot of practice and focus. The program schedule at Yoga Vidya School is set in a way where after a practice session of Hatha and Ashtanga, you get time to cool yourself off peacefully with an evening meditation session.

Practices such as humour therapy, laughter yoga, chair yoga, meditation by the banks of the river or up in the mountains, and yoga Nidra make the retreat not only interesting but very distinctive as compared to other retreat programs offered usually. Participants also benefit a lot from the various philosophy classes and discussion sessions with the bona fide gurus at the school.

Our local chefs cook all your meals with extreme love, passion, and dedication and bring new menus to the table to keep your palette craving for more. They take personal pleasure in ensuring that all our guests are well-fed and nourishes. Our produces are mostly seasonal veggies and fruits and are purchased locally ensuring that you get to taste the best of Rishikesh.

Herbal teas and chai are available during meal and break times are equally beneficial for your health. Most herbal have ingredients that keep your body healthy, increase your immunity, and naturally assist in detoxification.

EXCURSIONS AND SIGHTSEEING

At Yoga Vidya School, we highly encourage the concept of inculcating fun elements during all our programs, whether it be a month-long teacher training course or a week-long retreat. And, how could we not?

Yoga Vidya School is headquartered in the ‘spiritual capital of India’, Rishikesh. This small-in- size but grand-in- appearance holy town is located in the laps of the Shivalik range and is set on the banks of River Ganges, known as the holiest river as per Hindu culture and traditions. The city is home to thousands of temples, ashrams, caves, and the iconic Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula.

During your week-long stay with us, we will take you to visit some of the most important and prominent sites of Rishikesh and around. You will get a chance to practice Sunrise yoga atop the mountain temple of Kunjapuri and a sunset meditation by the banks of Ganges.

Our teachers will also take you to a heart-warming, overwhelming evening prayer ceremony by the banks of the river. The evening ceremony is a special and a one-of- its-kind attraction and you will join hundreds of others, locals and tourists alike, who come to visit this majestic ceremony held every evening at Parmartha Niketan. You will also get a chance to explore a few ashrams and meditation caves which have been there since time could tell and are a big hit amongst sages and yoga practitioners.
